Static White

A fixed-CCT strip does one thing and does it cheaply: it produces white light at one color temperature for the life of the installation. For the large majority of architectural work that is exactly right — a cove does not need to change color, it needs to be the correct color and stay there.

The number to pick is set by the room and the finishes. 2700K reads as domestic warmth against timber and brass; 3000K is the usual default for residential and hospitality; 3500K–4000K suits kitchens, workshops and commercial interiors with cooler materials; 5000K and above belongs in task and utility spaces where accuracy beats atmosphere.

Warmer is not automatically better. Below about 2700K a strip starts to yellow pale finishes, and 1800K candlelight tones are an effect rather than a general light source — they work as an accent beside a warmer white, not as the only light in a room.
