When one color is the whole point

A single-color strip emits one saturated color from every LED, with no mixing. It is the right tool when the color never changes: wayfinding, signage accents, a brand color behind a bar, or an exterior detail that has to read the same every night.

Because there is only one channel, it is simpler than RGB to wire and control. One constant-voltage driver and an ordinary dimmer are enough, and the color is purer than a mix of red, green and blue tuned to look similar.

If the color might change later, specify RGB or RGBW now. Swapping a strip out of a finished channel costs far more than the controller.
