Venue work asks for saturated color, fast response and control that integrates with everything else on the rig. That normally means addressable strip driven from a system that speaks DMX or Art-Net, so lighting cues live alongside the rest of the show rather than in a separate app.

Refresh rate matters more here than anywhere else, because cameras are present. A strip that looks steady to the eye can band badly on a broadcast or a phone video if its PWM frequency is low — for studio and streamed work, high-refresh drivers are a requirement, not an upgrade.

Physical robustness is the other difference. Temporary rigs get handled, coiled and re-rigged, so terminations and connectors take the abuse that a permanent architectural install never sees.
